Why you should make a donation to Waterfront Rescue Mission?
For 70 years, Waterfront Rescue Mission has impacted the lives of people who are homeless in Pensacola. The Mission continues to provide life changing opportunities to men and women who have been devastated by homelessness and addiction
Through monetary donations from individuals and businesses, the Mission is able to feed the hungry, offer safe shelter nightly, provide warm showers, and supply clean clothing to individuals seeking help. Various times toiletries like shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes and other essentials are given to those who are experiencing homelessness.
Walking through the Mission doors is the vital first step for many who have decided to conquer their addiction and leave their life of homelessness. Through the Mission’s Recovery Program, they will get the help they need to overcome their habits and end ‘living on the streets’ for good.
The reason the Mission is able to do these things is because of the generosity of the community and there are numerous ways you can help support the Mission. The Mission will connect your donations of money, items and goods, as well as your time, talents, professional skills and prayers with the individuals and families who need them most.
Waterfront Rescue Mission is an accredited charity with the Better Business Bureau and a member of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions. Every dollar is stretched for maximum benefit. In fact, 80% of dollars received go directly for program services, including the Mission’s Recovery Programs.
Below, you will find more ways you and your group, church or business can help the hungry, homeless and addicted in Escambia County, Florida.

Do Something for Tomorrow Today
Planned giving is a way you can provide a future gift from your estate to Waterfront Rescue Mission. Planned giving is not meant to replace, but rather to complement the donor’s current giving plan to the Waterfront Rescue Mission.
You can specify a portion of your assets to go to the Mission. You may also direct your gift or support towards a particular Mission program or shelter. This arrangement may be changed any time you choose.
Many planned gifts can be beneficial to the donor. During your lifetime you can receive tax benefits by investing in specific instruments, such as pooled income funds, gift annuities, and various trusts. Often these incomes exceed the donor’s investment in saving accounts, certificates of deposit, etc.
A planned gift today can help the Mission continue to meet the needs of the less fortunate and carry out the Mission’s vision for years to come.
There are many options for legacy giving for you to consider:
- Bequest of a residence
- Specific bequest
- Designation of beneficiary of life insurance policies
- Designation of beneficiary of pension/retirement plan
- Gift of real estate
- Gift from a trust fund or annuity
- Contingent bequest
- Appreciated securities
Gifts in any of these forms can be made in memory of or in honor of a loved one. For advice or assistance in specific cases, please consult your attorney or professional adviser.
Call 888-853-8655 to learn more about how you, and your planned gifts can impact the ministry of Waterfront Rescue Mission.
Honor And Memorial Giving
Your gift, in memory or in honor of a loved one, friend or special occasion, is not only a thoughtful way to pay tribute to someone special but also a wonderful way to help meet the needs of those less fortunate in your community.
A contribution may be given in lieu of flowers for a loved one who is deceased or to honor special occasions such as, anniversaries, weddings, birthdays and graduations.
When you give an honor or memorial gift, a card will be sent to the designated family or individual telling them of your gift.
