Extreme Weather Protocol

Hurricane Season runs from June 1 to November 30.

In the event of a hurricane or other inclement weather, our Mission doors remain open for overnight and day sheltering.

Men and women are welcome to stay at our Pensacola Mission at no cost. For women with children, we collaborate with community partners to provide overnight shelter accommodations. Similarly, men may stay at our Mobile Mission free of charge, and we work with local partners to secure overnight shelter for women and children.

Waterfront will remain open during the day to serve as a daytime shelter for men, women, and children as long as capacity and conditions allow.

Be Kind and Helpful

The summer season can pose mental and physical challenges for our friends who are experiencing homelessness.

If you encounter someone outdoors in extreme heat or stormy conditions, take a moment to reflect on your blessings and extend a gesture of hope to them.

Here’s How You Can Help:

  • Distribute Mission Outreach Cards with our information. Available here: https://waterfrontmission.org/ways-to-get-involved/
  • Keep blessing bags filled with items like snacks or bottled water, toiletries, sunscreen, and socks on hand.
  • Pray for the health and safety of these individuals.
