Waterfront Mission to Host Our Second Annual Conversations On A Bench

Save the Date: October 8–9 | Schedule an Interview, Submit a Question & Tune In
Mark your calendars and bring your questions. Starting Thursday, October 8, Waterfront Mission will host its second annual Conversation on a Bench, inviting the community to join a 24-hour conversation about homelessness, addiction, mental health, and the challenges facing individuals and families in our community. The conversation will begin at 2 p.m. CST on October 8 and continue through 2 p.m. CST on October 9.
Waterfront Mission President & CEO Clay Romano will once again take a seat on the bench in the Mission’s Veteran’s Courtyard at 348 W. Herman Ave. in Pensacola, where he will facilitate conversations with staff, community members, clients, volunteers, donors, and special ministry guests.
To schedule an interview or submit a question, email info@waterfrontmission.org. Questions will also be accepted during the event through the Waterfront Mission Facebook and YouTube livestreams, giving community members an opportunity to participate throughout the 24-hour event — day or night.
“This event is about having open, honest, and intentional conversations,” said Romano. “If you have a question about homelessness, addiction, or what Waterfront is doing to help, we want to hear it. Bring your questions, bring your perspective, and let’s have a conversation.”
“We learned from last year’s Conversation on a Bench that people are ready to talk about these issues. I hope people will set aside time to tune in, send us their questions, and, if they’re willing, take a seat on the bench with us. Every conversation gives us an opportunity to better understand the challenges in our community and consider how we can work together to address them.”
Conversation on a Bench is a nationwide initiative led by Citygate Network, with over 100 gospel-centered rescue missions and ministries across the country participating. The initiative encourages communities to replace assumptions with understanding through meaningful conversations about homelessness and related challenges.
