A Pathway from Homelessness to Lasting Stability

The Cornerstone Program provides men and women experiencing homelessness with a clear pathway toward personal transformation and lasting stability.

Through a structured four-phase journey, participants receive Christ-centered guidance, life skills development, workforce training, mentorship, and community support. Along the way, they build the emotional, spiritual, and financial foundation needed to overcome barriers, achieve independence, and create a brighter future.

Our goal is not simply to help individuals move beyond homelessness, but to equip them with the tools, relationships, and faith necessary to thrive for years to come.

The Four-Phase Journey

A simple four-step pathway from life-dominating issues to stability and independence.

Phase 1:

Establish stability, healthy routines, and personal goals.

Phase 2:

Strengthen life skills and deepen faith through classes and counseling.

Phase 3:

Pursue employment, education and peer leadership opportunities.

Phase 4:

Transition into long-term independence through housing stability, financial responsibility, restored family relationships, reliable transportation, and active community and church engagement.

Everyone a Leader

At the heart of the Cornerstone Program is a simple belief: everyone has the potential to lead.

Through mentorship, accountability, service, and personal development, participants grow in confidence, character, and purpose. As they progress, they are encouraged to take ownership of their journey, invest in others, and become positive influences in their communities.

We’re building leaders at home, at work, in the church, and in the community.

Christ-Centered Growth & Personal Development

True transformation goes beyond meeting immediate needs, it changes lives from the inside out.

Through daily classes, chapel services, Bible study, and one-on-one mentoring, participants receive both a spiritual foundation and practical tools for life change.

As they grow, participants may also pursue opportunities in job readiness, employment, education, and leadership development—equipping them for long-term personal and professional success.

Community Partnerships

The Cornerstone Program is strengthened through partnerships with local employers, educational institutions, churches, businesses, and community organizations.

These partnerships provide valuable opportunities for employment, education, mentorship, and spiritual growth while helping participants build meaningful connections within the community.

Building a Foundation for the Future

A cornerstone is the first stone set in place when constructing a building. It establishes the strength and direction of everything that follows.

We believe Jesus Christ is the true cornerstone upon which lasting transformation is built.

Through Waterfront's Cornerstone Program, individuals experiencing homelessness can build a strong foundation, discover renewed purpose, and move toward a future filled with hope.

Hope starts here. Transformation begins here. A new future is built here.
